Police Clearance Certificate from Azerbaijan (PCC)

If you have resided in Azerbaijan for more than 6 months, you may be asked to present a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) by:

  • Immigration authorities (visa or residency applications)

  • Future employers (background checks)

  • Consulates or embassies (for travel or settlement abroad)

What is a Police Clearance Certificate?

A Police Clearance Certificate (also known as a Criminal Record Certificate) is an official document issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan. It confirms whether an individual has any criminal record in Azerbaijan and is used to evaluate the legal and personal background of the applicant.

Required Documents

To represent you and obtain the certificate on your behalf, we will need:

  1. Copy of your foreign passport (main ID page and any Azerbaijan visa/stamp pages)

  2. Copy of Azerbaijani national ID card (for citizens)

  3. Power of Attorney (PoA)

    • Must be notarized and apostilled, or

    • Issued at an Azerbaijani consulate/embassy abroad

  4. Color copy of your migration card (if available)

  5. Signed application form (will be emailed)

  6. Explanatory letter outlining:

    • Purpose of the PCC

    • Last addresses and periods of stay in Azerbaijan

    • Recent activities while residing in Azerbaijan

Information Required in the Application

Your PCC application must include:

  • Full name

  • Date and place of birth

  • Citizenship and current residence address

  • ID document details (type, number, issue date, issuing authority)

 Apostille & Legalization

If the Police Clearance Certificate will be used in a country that is part of the Hague Apostille Convention, we will ensure that the document is apostilled in Azerbaijan. For non-Hague countries, we can assist with full legalization through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and consulates.
